The workshop: Ambientha welcomes knitting and crochet lovers with a preview of the first wallpaper design inspired by rock art
More than 50 participants at the workshop held by Giuliano and Giusy, a collaborative atmosphere, but mostly creative. And it is precisely with the creativity of wool knitwear lovers that Ambientha chooses to present the first wallpaper design of the new exclusive decorative collection.
A suggestive moment to appreciate all the characteristics of wool , from near and far. The new wallpaper design thus became the background of the workshop as a wall fabric, warming up the participants grappling with the creation of the artifacts created with the Magic Paper film by the technical sponsor DMC .
From the passion of a new project to the birth of an exclusive collection. Knitting Rock Art is born: the wallpaper is inspired by wool to tell the rock engravings, like an elegant wall fabric
It is in Milan at the Atelier Marelli that the idea of enhancing the Valcamonica sign giving it a different way of expressing itself comes to life. Thus, during the meetings to organise details of the exhibition, Ambientha imagines bringing the rock engravings from the rock walls of the Camonica Valley to the walls of rooms we live in our everyday life.

Keeping the symbolism of the ancient testimonies unaltered for a true representation of the language of humans, the weaving with woolen threads begins. Among the Forest Green , Carmine Red , Gentian Blue and Ocher Yellow yarn of Giuliano and Giusy Marelli’s fashion capsule collection, Ambientha designs the new wallpaper, decorative and embroidered as a wall fabric.
The communicative power of rock art and details of knitting for a timeless mural decoration
Labirinto is the first decorative wallpaper from the Knitting Roch Art collection. The design depicts one of the rock art, perhaps the most mysterious depiction of all time , not only for the Valle Camonica but for the iconography of the ancient world. In fact, scholars attribute different interpretations to each other: a ritual path for the religious-mystical field, the scheme followed by the knights in the equestrian game, an initiation rite for warriors.

The Labirinto decoration dresses interiors as a warm and soft wall fabric , full of details as realistic as to perceive the weaving of wool . The Valcamonica sign embroidered between the neutral shades of the rock gives the walls an elegant and refined appearance .
Mystery and charm of the artistic heritage recognised throughout the world. The Valcamonica sign engraves the wall and dresses it with intertwined weaves
The
various patterns of wool
in the design represent the
different ages and evolutionary ages of mankind
, as evidenced by the rock art, recognised as
the first Italian UNESCO Heritage site
. Besides Labirinto here are the decorative wallpapers Rosa Camuna and Cervo.
The Rosa Camuna , is a symbol near the sun and also a lucky charm . There are numerous documents of this rose and also its interpretations, from the link with astronomy that defines it as a solar symbol, to the image that brings it back to warriors, who dance around it and protect it from the aggression of armed enemies.

The rock art Cervo appears among intertwined threads of Knitting Rock Art, as a magic ritual to favour the hunting outcome. The wallpaper Cervo decorates the wall of the animal that in ancient times the camuni venerated and desired.
