has hit the 58th edition. The show, international leader in the home decor industry, will be held during the second week of April, from Tuesday 9 to Sunday 14,

The event, capable of attracting over 300 thousand people worldwide, emphasises once again
the central role of
Milan, the metropolis which keeps earning globally significant awards.
Milan at the core. Best Italian city for life quality according to a 2018 survey by Sole 24 Ore: it is indeed the capital of morality of our “Belpaese”.
Salone del Mobile 2019 involves the entire city with a serie of events focused on design, culture and art, willing to emphasize the interconnecting elements with Milan. The main purpose of Salone is that of pursuing the path of internationalization engaged with the Lombard metropolis, thus providing the design world with interesting planning cues for the near future.

This new edition show comes up with a new exposition form compared to last year. There are two main updates regarding its exhibition format, namely, the presence of the “odd-numbered years” WorkPlace 3.0 , the expositive itinerary named after the work environments of the “future” and Euroluce , the international show of illumination.
Liquid space, smart office, privacy and worker centered design are the keywords of workplace 3.0.
Workplace 3.0 will expose all the innovative and technological options capable of meeting the need of “living” the workplace: the 52 enterprises which belong to it, promoters of project trials, will cover all the exposition areas of Salone del Mobile 2019. The idea at the core is that of stressing the extent of flexibility and dynamicity reached by the work environment, open to professional sharing, mobility and to the overlap with more everyday activities.
The leading role of Euroluce 2019 belongs to the integrated lighting system. New aesthetic concepts allow not only to see, but also to feel and live the surrounding space.
The
International Lighting Exhibition
, besides coming up with innovative solutions in the field of internal and external lighting, will be based on technological testing, sustainability, “human centricity” and aesthetic research. Among exhibitors, you can’t definitely miss
Fabbian
with its “Timeless beauty”, which renews its products through the total conversion to led sources and the development of new lighting systems, thanks to which they’ve been named designers of international fame.
A further news of the current edition is the addition of the term “genius” to the
Manifesto
, the guide which appeals to the actors involved in the Salone del Mobile, the so called “purposes’ deal” aimed at canalizing all the forces operating together in Milan for preserving the leadership role of the city.

The genius: cleverness as the basis of creativity, capability of doing and thinking, ability of understanding and guessing the paths which look at innovation.
The new term,
direct heir of
genius
from a Latin etymological matrix, to which has been dedicated an entire paragraph within the Manifesto, pays tribute to Leonardo Da Vinci, celebrating, this year in Milan, 500 years since his death.
